Al Scaia Collection

The Al Scaia Collection is a curated archive of local history and artwork, generously donated to the Readsboro Community Library by historian Alfred Scaia. Al has dedicated himself to preserving the stories of those who lived through one of history's most defining moments. His collection includes 16 DVDs documenting the World War II experiences of veterans and their families, recorded at the National World War II Museum in New Orleans. These films ensure that the courage, sacrifice, and family histories of those who endured the war will be remembered and honored by generations to come. In recognition of his extraordinary contributions to historical preservation, Al has been honored with a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Vermont Historical Society. We are deeply grateful to Al Scaia for his tireless dedication to keeping Readsboro's history alive.
